Subway tiles have been in style for decades now, so they’re a very safe bet that the trend isn’t going anywhere and your kitchen won’t accidentally look outdated in a hurry. That being said, give the old look a new twist by blowing the tile size past the standard three inches by six inches. This one small change can give your kitchen an entirely different and more modern feel, while still being done in a way that is sure to stand the test of time.

Metallic or mirrored finishes have been on the rise, and while they may not be the most classic choice, they’re certainly a beautiful modern one to enjoy while we can.
