What are cabinet rails?
June 20, 2018
A cabinet rail is a long thin piece of wood that sits like a board or a beam. The top and bottom horizontal pieces are called the rails. Rails are combined with the vertical pieces of wood, which are called stiles.
Every door frame in cabinetry has two rails, with one at the top and the other at the bottom. This is commonly referred to as the frame and panel technique, and many cabinet styles adopt this form of structuring. All rails can be made of solid wood and stained to reflect any style or design you please.
